Real Oakleys have much truer optics, much more durable frames, and some ridiculous impact protection ( ) (or just search "oakley impact test" on Youtube).Īlso, for rowing, as I'm sure you know, polarized lenses are going to be great. But if you take care of them, and don't lose them (seriously, get croakies), they are 10x better than fakes. Of course, if you lose real ones, it is much more of a bummer. Croakies/Chums are still a great investment though, especially if you're dead-set on Frogskins or Holbrooks. The rubber on the arms (they call it Unobtanium) gets stickier when it gets wet, so they will stay on your face easier. I'll be using them for rowing and chillinįor rowing, I would go with something like the Jupiter Squared, if you don't want the spandex look of a Radar or Flak Jacket. ![]()
